Do we disconnect appliances?
We can disconnect a washer, dryer or dishwasher from standard hookups as part of the job. Gas appliances and water heaters need the gas line shut off before we arrive — either by you, a plumber, or the gas company, depending on your comfort level. We will not disconnect a live gas line ourselves, both for safety and because it is outside what our insurance covers.
Recycling over landfill
Appliances are mostly metal, and metal is one of the easiest materials to recycle profitably, so it almost never ends up in a landfill through us. Refrigerant gets recovered separately per EPA rules, and the remaining steel, aluminum and copper goes to a scrap recycler.
